The Tale Of Two Decks

This project gave us the opportunity to design two separate but complementary outdoor spaces, each serving a unique purpose. The upper deck offers an open-air experience for dining, sunbathing, and enjoying warmer days. The lower deck, partially covered and more sheltered, provides a cozy spot for relaxing in the shade or gathering on cooler evenings. Both decks are connected by wide, functional stairs and share a cohesive material palette to keep the overall design unified. The layout was built with everyday life in mind—whether it’s a solo coffee in the morning or a full house on the weekend, there’s a space for it. The result is a backyard that adapts to the season, the weather, and the occasion.
