The Spiral Staircase Deck

The Spiral Staircase Deck came together as a response to a tricky elevation challenge: how do you connect an upper-level walkout with a lower backyard zone in a way that’s both functional and elegant? A custom black spiral staircase became the centerpiece—space-saving, sculptural, and efficient. Upstairs, we created a small grilling and dining nook just off the kitchen door, while below we carved out an enclosed hot tub retreat complete with wood privacy slats and built-in mood lighting. Stone columns and natural materials helped root the structure into the surrounding yard. This project highlights how thoughtful multi-level deck design can make the most of compact or sloped outdoor spaces, without compromising beauty or usability.
