The Cantilevered Kitchen Deck

For this project, we were tasked with creating a fully functional outdoor kitchen and dining area—without eating up the entire yard. Our solution: a cantilevered deck that floats off the home’s side, extending usable space without requiring a larger footprint. The central feature is a sleek, built-in kitchen setup, complete with a stainless steel grill, prep surfaces, storage, and space for bar seating. We kept the cabinetry low-profile and modern to let the materials and layout do the talking. The deck’s elevation also makes for a smoother transition from the interior kitchen to the outdoor one. To bring life and personality into the space, we went bold with red accent seating and contrasting tones in the decking and trim. Whether it’s a quiet breakfast or a summer dinner party, this deck is designed to host with ease.
